(shown on right) Versions

The Model 720, Compact Relay Parameter Test System [CRPT] is a member of Circuit Equipment Corporation's relay products testing family. It combines high accuracy, high speed, low cost and high reliability to produce the best parametric relay tester on the market. It is ideal for testing two-coil latching, one-coil latching, non-latching, DC and AC coil, time delay on operate and time delay on release type relays. It tests in accordance with MIL-PRF-6106L and MIL-PRF-83536A. Manufacturers and designers of relay products and related equipment will find it a valuable addition to their design, test and manufacturing applications.

There are two versions of the Model 720: The Remote PC version and the Embedded PC version. In the Remote PC version the 720 is controlled by an external PC over a serial interface using the Windows™ operating system. This version can test up to two relays simultaneously. The Embedded PC version contains its own embedded PC and provides external connections for a monitor and keyboard.

The Model 720 contains an internal analog processor, which accurately controls all timing, sequencing and testing. It contains clean internal power sources for very accurate low noise measurements. All high current contact load switching is performed in a separate shielded unit. This yields highly reliable and repeatable test results. All of the major Model 720 components are modular to allow easy repair, replacement or NIST traceable calibration.

With over twenty-four, user-defined test parameters, the 720 offers flexibility and precision in relay test applications. Contact loads can be programmed, from 0.0V to 6VDC in 1mV steps and from 0.0mA to 100mA in 1mA steps. Model 720 also includes a mid-load level of 28VDC @ 100mA. Using external supplies, the 720 can control loads up to 100VDC with currents up to 100ADC. The Model 720 with the 72040A (10 Amp) switch option is a direct replacement for the Markenrich™ tester .

Testing may be initiated with the press a button, a contact closure, or a foot pedal. In addition, the External PC version allows the testing of up to two relays with the click of a mouse. Status and control inputs/outputs are provided to allow easy interface to material handling/automated production systems. User-selectable production, engineering or QC data output modes are also available. In the engineering mode, all relay parameters are displayed, making the 720 useful in engineering design. In the QC or production modes only a subset is shown, making the 720 ideal for relay manufacture/testing.
