The Model 7010B Relay Life Tester automates the inspection and characterization of relays. The system is controlled by an embedded PC and menu-driven software. It has the capability to test up to 24 contacts in accordance with MIL-R-39016D specifications. Test results are compared with user defined limits and a final report is generated The report includes test parameters, the type of failure and at which operation the failure occured. The systems provides explicit type failure messages in the final test report. (e.g., WELD FAILURE, or NORMALLY CLOSED CONTACT RESISTANCE FAILURE). Testing can be programmed to stop on a particular relay failure.
Each relay under test has its own digital output control lines to notify the user when a relay has failed. These lines can be used to turn off load supplies or to trigger other operations. The Model 7010B allows the selection of many different relay configurations and parameters. All parameter selections are password-protected to guard against unauthorized modifications. Configuration data files as well as test result data files can be saved and recalled from the internal disk drive. The Model 7010B also automatically saves the data to disk on 1 hour intervals. Thus, in case of a power failure minimal data will be lost. This interval can be changed, by the factory, at the time of software installation. The 7010B is easily calibrated and includes self diagnostics for easy maintenance.
